FUNCTION OF THE board:
Pursuant to A.R.S. § 32-2063, the Board regulates the application, granting, denial, revocation, renewal, and suspension of licenses and the rehabilitation of licensed psychologists. In addition, the Board must engage in the full exchange of information with other regulatory boards and psychological associations, national psychology organizations and the Arizona Psychology Association and its components.
STATUTORY REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:
The State Board of Psychologist Examiners consists of nine governor-appointed members, six of whom are licensed psychologists, and three of whom are public members. At least two members must be licensed psychologists who are full-time faculty members from Arizona universities with a doctoral program in psychology. Three members must be psychologists in professional practice. The public members may not have a substantial financial interest in the health care industry or have a household member who is eligible for licensure as a psychologist.

SALARY OR OTHER COMPENSATION:
Board members are eligible to receive compensation in the amount of one hundred dollars for each cumulative eight hours of actual service in the business of the board and reimbursement of all expenses incurred for service-related expenses.
