AN ACT

 

amending section 12-101, Arizona Revised Statutes; relating to the supreme court.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Section 12-101, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended to read:

START_STATUTE12-101.  Supreme court justices; number; term; election

The supreme court shall consist of five judges seven justices.  The term of office of each judge justice of the supreme court shall be six years and shall take effect on the first Monday in January of the year in which it begins.  Judges Justice of the supreme court shall be elected at the general election next preceding the expiration of a term of office.
