A CONCURRENT resolution

 

on the death of mitchell k. menlove.

Proposing that the Senate and the House of Representatives of the State of Arizona acknowledge the contribution of Mitchell Kent Menlove to the State of Arizona, his extraordinary love for his family, his love of Arizona and of those in Arizona government.

Whereas, it is a rare and special person who is able to affect so many lives in such a positive manner in such a short period of time, and it is a blessing when an individual such as Mitchell Kent Menlove becomes a part of our lives; and

Whereas, it is only appropriate that Mitchell Kent Menlove be honored and esteemed by the Arizona State Senate and the Arizona House of Representatives; and

Whereas, Mitch Menlove did pass from this world on the morning of Monday, July 19, 2010 from heart complications, leaving for a time his wonderful wife Elizabeth Ickes Menlove, and their four beautiful children, Maxwell Mitchell Menlove, Morgan Kent Menlove, Makenna Elizabeth Menlove and, born into this world only days after the passing of his father, Mitchell Kent Menlove, Jr.  There is no role or responsibility that Mitch cherished more than that of husband and father.  His family was built on an eternal foundation and strong belief that "Families are Forever."  He is also survived by loving parents and by an exceptional extended family; and

Whereas, Mitch Menlove’s professional career spanned eleven years working in government affairs at the Arizona state capitol.  He personified integrity, a strong work ethic and a complete absence of guile.  His intelligence, unique instincts and ability to find solutions to complex challenges led Mitch to become one of the most respected and accomplished members of his profession, who was admired by leaders of both political parties; and

Whereas, Mitch Menlove is remembered by many for his quiet acts of service to others throughout his life, including his service as a bishop of both the Madison Ward and Biltmore Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Bishop Menlove was esteemed and appreciated by countless individuals who sought his wisdom, understanding and spiritual discernment.  His leadership and example was extremely influential with the youth that he mentored and served.  Bishop Menlove lived his faith as a true disciple of Jesus Christ; and

Whereas, Mitch Menlove was known to his friends and colleagues for his good humor and wit, his charismatic nature and for his love of life.  Mitch was a loyal and trusted friend to many.  He led a very well-rounded life.  He loved to travel and enjoyed all things outdoors.  He could catch a fish when no one else could get a bite.  He enjoyed a great sense of style, appreciated fine foods and excelled at every sport; and

Whereas, we acknowledge Mitch Menlove’s positive impact on the State of Arizona and on all those who knew him;

Therefore

Be it resolved by the Senate of the state of Arizona, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the Arizona Legislature express the most profound regret and sorrow at the passing of Mitchell Kent Menlove and extend their deepest sympathies to his wife, children and extended family.
