AN ACT
amending title 41, chapter 41, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 41‑4259; relating to the department of homeland security.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 41, chapter 41, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 41-4259, to read:
41-4259. Border warnings; dissemination; definition
A. The director shall monitor information from any international, federal or state source and determine if the information contains any type of warning about dangerous conditions within the Arizona‑Mexico border area. If the director determines that such a warning has been issued, the director shall disseminate the information to the public in a manner that will immediately warn the public of the danger. The dissemination of the information may include electronic mail from a list of persons who have requested this information from the department or dissemination through a social network maintained by the department.
B. For the purposes of this section, "Arizona‑Mexico border area" has the same meaning prescribed in section 41‑4501.
