AN ACT
Amending title 36, chapter 29, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 36-2906.02; relating to the Arizona health care cost containment system.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 36, chapter 29, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 36-2906.02, to read:
36-2906.02. Dental care services; separate contractor
Beginning January 1, 2013, the administration shall prepare and issue a request for proposals, including a proposed contract format, at least once every five years to two or more appropriately licensed and qualified dental health plans, WHICH THE ADMINISTRATION SHALL COMPENSATE ON A PREPAID OR A CAPITATED BASIS for the delivery of all dental care services. tHE CONTRACT SHALL SPECIFY THAT THE DENTAL HEALTH PLANS COMPENSATE THE PROVIDERS ON A FEE‑FOR‑SERVICE BASIS. The contract shall ALSO specify the administrative requirements, the delivery of specific dental services provided pursuant to this chapter and subcontracting requirements.
