AN ACT
Amending title 35, chapter 1, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 35‑125; relating to state budgeting.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 35, chapter 1, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 35-125, to read:
35-125. Agencies; federal grant applications; JLBC review; exception
A. Before an application for financial assistance or a grant from the United States government or any agency of the United States government is submitted by or on behalf of a state agency, board or commission, the application shall be submitted to the joint legislative budget committee for review if the application is for more than five hundred thousand dollars.
B. The requirements in subsection A of this section do not apply to financial assistance or grants submitted by or on behalf of any university under the jurisdiction of the Arizona board of regents.
