AN ACT

 

amending title 48, chapter 19, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 48-2917.01; relating to irrigation and water conservation districts.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 48, chapter 19, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 48‑2917.01, to read:

START_STATUTE48-2917.01.  Certain districts; qualifications for voting, holding office and petitions; ownership of real property; definitions; applicability

For a district that is established in a county with a population of more than two hundred thousand persons and that has the Colorado River as a boundary, the following apply:

1.  In this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires, "land" or "real property" means all real property regardless of its use or designation, and is not limited to agricultural land.

2.  The definitions prescribed in this section apply to any instance in which holding ownership or evidence of title or any other indicator of ownership of land or real property is prescribed as a requirement for voting in or holding office in a district or signing a formation, dissolution, boundary change or recall petition or performing any other function regarding a district as prescribed in this chapter.END_STATUTE
