AN ACT
providing for the establishment of the Yuma desalting plant study committee.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Yuma desalting plant study committee; membership; duties; report; delayed repeal
A. The Yuma desalting plant study committee is established consisting of three members of the senate who are appointed by the president of the senate, not more than two of whom are members of the same political party.
B. The president of the senate shall designate a chairperson. The committee shall meet at the call of the chairperson.
C. Committee members are not eligible to receive compensation and are not eligible for reimbursement of expenses.
D. The committee shall:
1. Collect information on the history and the development of the Yuma desalting plant.
2. Review data collected during the Yuma desalting plant pilot run.
3. Study opportunities to enhance and to increase operations at the Yuma desalting plant.
E. The committee shall submit a report of its findings and recommendations on or before December 31, 2013 to the governor and the president of the senate and shall provide a copy of this report to the secretary of state.
F. This section is repealed from and after September 30, 2014.
