FLOOR AMENDMENT EXPLANATION

 

The Pierce Floor amendment does the following:

 

  1. Continues, retroactive to July 1, 2013, the Arizona State Parks Board (Board) until July 1, 2023.

 

  1. Requires the Board to submit a report on the implementation of the recommendations of the Auditor General in the Board’s sunset audit to JLAC on or before December 31, 2017.

 

  1. Contains a purpose statement.

Page 1, between lines 1 and 2, insert:

"Section 1.  Repeal

Section 41-3013.06, Arizona Revised Statutes, is repealed.

Sec. 2.  Title 41, chapter 27, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 41-3023.06, to read:

START_STATUTE41-3023.06.  Arizona state parks board; termination July 1, 2023

A.  The Arizona state parks board terminates on July 1, 2023.

B.  Title 41, chapter 3, article 1.1 is repealed on January 1, 2024."END_STATUTE

Page 2, after line 5, insert:

"Sec. 9.  Implementation report; joint legislative audit committee

The Arizona state parks board shall submit a report on the implementation of the recommendations of the auditor general to the joint legislative audit committee on or before December 31, 2017.

Sec. 10.  Purpose

Pursuant to section 41-2955, subsection B, Arizona Revised Statutes, the legislature continues the Arizona state parks board for the purposes, and to accomplish the objectives, prescribed in section 41-511.03, Arizona Revised Statutes.

Sec. 11.  Retroactivity

Section 41‑3013.06, Arizona Revised Statutes, as repealed by this act, and section 41‑3023.06, Arizona Revised Statutes, as added by this act, are effective retroactively to July 1, 2013."
