• Expands Empowerment Scholarship Account eligibility to include children who reside in zip codes where the average household income is 185 percent or lower of the federal poverty threshold for a family of four that has two children under 18 years of age.

 

• Eliminates the following ESA eligibility qualifications:
• economic status in relation to the National School Lunch and Child Nutrition Acts;
• being the child of a parent who is a police officer, firefighter or other specific first responder; and
• being the sibling of a current or previous ESA recipient.
