FLOOR
AMENDMENT EXPLANATION
The Burges Floor Amendment to House Bill 2429 does
the following:
- Specifies
that a towing company may only have one contract per geographic
towing area
- Prohibits
a towing company from participating in any other application for a
contractual agreement within the same geographic towing area of a towing
firm that it has a common ownership
interest in or owns the assets of.
- Specifies
that the contractual agreements of a towing firm acquired by another firm
remain valid for one year after the date of acquisition.
- Authorizes
an agency to allow multiple towing firms to share resource if deemed
necessary for traffic incident management.

"H. Notwithstanding
subsection F of this section, an agency may allow a towing firm to use
resources from another towing firm if the department of public safety deems the
use of those resources is necessary for a traffic management incident."
