A RESOLUTION

 

supporting the Consular Corps of Arizona.

Whereas, the Consular Corps of Arizona, an international organization composed of foreign government representatives that was founded in 1961, continues to connect Arizona with 35 countries of the world; and

Whereas, members of the Consular Corps of Arizona represent constituents and nationals who live in or visit the State of Arizona; and

Whereas, members of the Consular Corps of Arizona work to build and foster awareness and relationships between Arizonans and our international friends in order to establish a better understanding and appreciation of each other's countries, cultures and communities; and

Whereas, members of the Consular Corps of Arizona serve to promote economic development, cultural awareness and understanding, scientific and technological research, educational exchanges, tourism, governmental relationships and opportunities and advancements between their countries and Arizona; and

Whereas, the Consular Corps of Arizona reflects the extraordinary diversity of backgrounds of the citizens of the State of Arizona and the rich composition of the many cultures and faiths of the world; and

Whereas, this state desires to honor these consuls who represent and assist their ambassadors.

Therefore

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of Arizona:

1.  That the Members of the House of Representatives support the Consular Corps of Arizona's mission to become the state's leading international organization and recognize its service to and engagement in the community.

2.  That the Members of the House of Representatives support continued communication amongst the Consular Corps of Arizona and domestic and international governments to foster business, educational and cultural endeavors.
