AN ACT

 

amending title 23, chapter 6, article 7, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 23-1032; relating to workers' compensation.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 23, chapter 6, article 7, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 23-1032, to read:

START_STATUTE23-1032.  Physician-dispensed medications

A carrier, a self‑insured employer or the commission shall not be liable for payment for medications that a physician dispenses unless both of the following occur:

1.  the physician dispenses the medication within seventy‑two hours after the employee's accident.

2.  The physician dispenses no more than a single seven-day supply of the medication. END_STATUTE
