AN ACT

 

Amending title 36, chapter 29, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 36-2903.08; relating to the Arizona health care cost containment system administration.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 36, chapter 29, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 36-2903.08, to read:

START_STATUTE36-2903.08.  AHCCCS contractors; emergency department use; ambulance use; case management

A.  A contractor shall intervene with case management services if a member seeks care at a hospital emergency department more than once in a forty-five-day period to educate the member regarding the proper use of emergency services.

B.  A contractor shall intervene with case management services if a member uses ambulance services for a nonemergent diagnosis to educate the member regarding the proper use of ambulance transport.END_STATUTE
