AMENDMENT EXPLANATION
1.
Transfers
the authority to distribute and allocate the monies of the Firefighter Special
Plate Fund (Fund) to the Director of ADOT from the Director of the
Department of Fire, Building and Life Safety.
2.
Requires
the Director of ADOT to annually distribute the monies in the Fund and allocate
the monies from the Fund to a state fire schools that provides training in
firefighting and prevention and prohibits the Fund for being used for political
purposes.

Between lines 13 and 14, insert:
"D. The
firefighter special plate fund is established consisting of monies received
pursuant to this section. The director shall administer the fund. Monies in
the fund are continuously appropriated. The first thirty‑two
thousand dollars received shall be reimbursed to the person that provides the
thirty-two thousand dollars pursuant to subsection A of this section. The
director shall annually distribute monies in the fund. The director shall
allocate monies from the fund to a state fire school that provides fire service
training and certification. The monies may not be used for political
purposes. On notice from the director, the state treasurer shall invest and
divest monies in the fund as provided in section 35-313, and monies from
investment shall be credited to the fund. Monies in the fund are exempt from
the provisions of section 35-190 relating to lapsing of appropriations."
