FLOOR
AMENDMENT EXPLANATION
1. Allows, as session
law, a school district with a teacher experience index (TEI) of 1.0040 or less for FY 2016
to submit corrections to TEI data if the school district meets all the
following conditions:
a) had average daily
membership between 1,525 and 1,600 for the 2014-2015 school year;
b) is a common school
district;
c) had a TEI between
1.0280 and 1.0300 for FY 2015;
d) had a calculated TEI
less than 1.0040 for FY 2016;
e) received basic state
aid for FY 2014 and FY 2015;
f) completed the
required TEI data submission by October 15, 2014 that resulted in a TEI greater
than 1.0.
2. Allows a school district to submit
corrections to TEI data and permits the school district to use the resulting
TEI in the determination of its base support level for FY 2016.
3. Makes technical changes regarding the
submission of corrected TEI data.

“B. If all the conditions prescribed in subsection A of this
section are met, the school district may submit corrections to teacher
experience index data, no later than August 15, 2015, that are required
pursuant to section 15-941, Arizona Revised Statutes, and the school district
may use the resulting teacher experience index in in the determination of its
base support level for fiscal year 2014-2015.
C. Notwithstanding sections 15-905 and 15-915 and section
15-941, subsection C, Arizona Revised Statutes, a school district for which the
fiscal year 2015-2016 teacher experience index is less than or equal to 1.0040
may submit corrections to teacher experience index data that are required
pursuant to section 15-941, Arizona Revised Statutes, if all of the following
conditions exist:
1. The school district's average daily membership, excluding
average daily membership for district sponsored charter schools, for the
2014-2015 school year is less than one thousand six hundred but more than one
thousand five hundred twenty-five.
2. The school district is a common school district.
3. The teacher experience index calculated for the school
district pursuant to section 15-941, Arizona Revised Statutes, for fiscal year
2014-2015 is greater than 1.0280, but less than 1.0300.
4. The teacher experience index for the school district
calculated as of March 15, 2015, for fiscal year 2015-2016 is less than 1.0040.
5. The school district received basic state aid in fiscal year
2013-2014 and is receiving basic state aid for fiscal year 2014-2015.
D. If all the conditions prescribed in subsection C of this
section are met, the school district may submit corrections to teacher
experience index data, no later than August 15, 2015, that are required
pursuant to section 15-941, Arizona Revised Statutes, and the school district
may use the resulting teacher experience index in in the determination of its
base support level for fiscal year 2015-2016.”
