AN ACT
amending Title 15, chapter 3, article 6, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 15-397; relating to joint technical education districts.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 15, chapter 3, article 6, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 15-397, to read:
15-397. Transportation of nondistrict pupils
If a school district provides pupil transportation services to and from the campus of a joint technical education district pursuant to section 15‑393, subsection l, paragraph 6 and this section, the school district shall provide transportation to and from that campus for children who do not attend a school operated by that school district but who reside within the boundaries of the school district and who are enrolled in a program or course offered at the campus of the joint technical education district. The joint technical education district shall provide any identification information and indemnification that is required by the school district for the transportation of these pupils. A school district that is required to transport pupils pursuant to this section is not obligated to change the school district's bus routes or add bus stops to accommodate pupils who are not enrolled in the school district. All pupils who are transported by a school district pursuant to section 15‑393, subsection l, paragraph 6 and this section shall comply with the school district's bus conduct rules, and pupils may be excluded from transportation by the school district for misconduct. the school district shall be reimbursed for fuel costs and for expenses related to adding equipment, staff or routes to accommodate the pupil transportation required by section 15‑393, subsection l, paragraph 6, except that the district may not charge for costs that the school district is already incurring for staff and equipment to transport the school district's enrolled pupils pursuant to section 15‑393, subsection l, paragraph 6.
