AN ACT

 

amending title 44, chapter 11, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding article 26; relating to hotel and motel employees.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 44, chapter 11, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding article 26, to read:

ARTICLE 26.  HOTEL AND MOTEL EMPLOYEES

START_STATUTE44-1799.95.  Employee guest room access; registered sex offenders prohibition

Before a hotel or motel owner or manager allows a hotel or motel employee to have access to the room of a registered guest of the hotel or motel, the owner or manager must check the internet sex offender website established pursuant to section 13-3827 and the United States department of justice national sex offender public website.  If the employee appears on either website as a sex offender, the employee may not have access to the room of a registered guest of the hotel or motel.
