AN ACT

 

amending title 44, chapter 3, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 44-340; relating to unclaimed property.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 44, chapter 3, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 44-340, to read:

START_STATUTE44-340.  Auditor contingency contracts prohibited

The department may not enter into a contract with an auditor for an audit relating to unclaimed property pursuant to this chapter if the contract provides that the department's payment to the auditor is contingent on the auditor recovering unclaimed property. END_STATUTE

Sec. 2.  Applicability

Section 44-340, Arizona Revised Statutes, as added by this act, applies only to contracts that are entered into on or after the effective date of this act.
