SENATE AMENDMENTS TO H.B. 2245

Strike everything after the enacting clause and insert:
“Section 1. Title 15, chapter 1, article 5, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 15-158, to read:
15-158. Access to school property; signature and identification
A. A public school may adopt a policy that requires all persons intending to enter school property for any purpose during school hours, including one hour before the start of school and two hours after the end of school, to first sign in at the school office and show government-issued identification or company-issued identification and receive approval for entering the propertY. School property includes any property located within the outer boundaries of the school.
B. A peace officer may remove from THE school property any person who fails to comply with the requirements of a policy adopted pursuant to subsection A of this section.
C. This section does not apply to an employee or agent of a utility, telecommunication or cable provider in an emergency when immediate entry to school property is needed and the employee or agent notifies the school as soon as practicable.”
