“6. One member who is affiliated with a statewide civil liberties organization that has a background in civil asset forfeiture and who is appointed by the governor.

7. One member who is a criminal defense attorney that has a background in civil asset forfeiture and who is appointed by the governor.

8. One member who is a resident of this state and has a background in civil asset forfeiture and who is appointed by the governor.

9. The attorney general or the attorney general’s designee.”

“D. The civil forfeiture study committee may:

1.  Request information, data and reports from any county or state agency or political subdivision of this state. If possible, information shall be provided electronically.

2.  Hold hearings, conduct fact finding tours and take testimony from witnesses who may assist the committee in fulfilling its responsibilities.”
