AN ACT

 

amending section 16‑709, Arizona Revised Statutes; relating to ratification of amendments to United states constitution by convention.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Section 16-709, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended to read:

START_STATUTE16-709.  Certificate of ratification

If the convention agrees by vote of a majority of the total number of delegates to ratification of the proposed amendment, a certificate to that effect shall be executed by the president and secretary of the convention and transmitted to the secretary of state of Arizona, who shall transmit the certificate under his hand and the great seal of the state to the secretary of state of the United States for publication pursuant to 1 United States Code section 106b.
