Amending Title 36, chapter 4, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 36-417; relating to health care institutions.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 36, chapter 4, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 36-417, to read:

START_STATUTE36-417.  Hospitals; flu vaccines

Each year beginning October 1 through March 1 of the following year, and in accordance with the most recent recommendations of the advisory committee on immunization practices of the centers for disease control and prevention, each hospital that is licensed pursuant to this chapter shall offer to all inpatients who are sixty‑five years of age or older, before their discharge from the hospital, an immunization against the influenza virus unless the immunization is contraindicated and contingent on the availability of the vaccine.
