AN ACT
amending Title 15, chapter 14, article 6, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 15-1866; relating to students' rights.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 15, chapter 14, article 6, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 15-1866, to read:
15-1866. Student disciplinary proceedings; alleged crimes; rights
A. If a community college or university initiates a disciplinary proceeding that involves an allegation of a crime, including a sexual offense, committed by a student, that student has the right to be represented by an attorney and the right to confront the student's accuser.
B. If the community college or university determines that a student who is entitled to counsel pursuant to subsection A of this section cannot afford an attorney, the community college or university shall appoint an attorney to represent the student at the disciplinary proceeding.
