FLOOR AMENDMENT EXPLANATION
1. Requires the Arizona Department of Education to develop the proposed dyslexia plan by December 31, 2019.
2. Specifies that training opportunities relating to dyslexia must enable teachers to implement structured literacy instruction and adds that the instruction must be multisensory.
3. Adds phonemic awareness, nonsense word repetition and sound symbol recognition to the factors that must be included in the screening tests.
