SB 1224      medical imaging equipment; services; self-referrals

Purpose (For more information see Fact Sheet): Prohibits a licensed allopathic (MD) or osteopathic (DO) physician from ordering an inappropriate diagnostic imaging study. Classifies certain acts relating to diagnostic imaging study as unprofessional conduct for a licensed MD or DO.

SB 1376      AHCCCS; hospital reimbursement

Purpose (For more information see Fact Sheet): Establishes new claims payment deadlines for the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) contractors, imposes civil penalties on contractors for late payments and makes numerous changes to hospital reimbursement requirements.  Establishes the Hospital Reimbursement Advisory Council to evaluate the hospital reimbursement system.
