1.    Removes the civil penalty for a first violation of open meeting law.

 

2.    Modifies civil penalties for second and subsequent violations as follows:

a)   $500 for a second violation; and

b)   $2,500 for a third or subsequent violation.

 

3.    Removes the prohibition against a public body indemnifying or making whole any individual member of a public body found in violation of open meeting law.

 

4.    Makes clarifying changes relating electronic communications among members of a public body.
