A RESOLUTION
honoring arizona native emma stone for her outstanding achievements as an actress.

Whereas, born in Scottsdale, Arizona, Emma Stone began acting with the Valley Youth Theatre in Phoenix as a child. She made her stage debut in a production of "The Wind in the Willows" and performed in numerous other productions throughout her early teens; and
Whereas, when she was 15, Emma decided she wanted to make acting her career. She and her mother moved to Los Angeles, where she completed her schooling at home while spending her days auditioning; and
Whereas, in 2004, Emma's television breakthrough came when she won the role of Laurie Partridge in the VH1 talent/reality show "In Search of the Partridge Family," which led to a number of small television roles in the following years; and
Whereas, Emma's movie debut came in 2007 when she was cast as Jules in Superbad and, following a string of successful performances, she won the leading role in 2010 as Olive in Easy A, which established her as a star; and
Whereas, now one of the highest paid actresses in the world, Emma Stone has earned numerous accolades for her work, including an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe Award, and three Screen Actors Guild Awards; and
Whereas, Emma Stone's most notable films include The Amazing Spider‑Man, Crazy, Stupid Love, The Help and La La Land; and
Whereas, the citizens of this state are proud to call Emma Stone a native daughter of Arizona.
Therefore
Be it Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of Arizona:
That the Members of the House of Representatives honor Arizona native Emma Stone on her outstanding accomplishments as an actress and extend best wishes for continued success in her remarkable career.
