AN ACT

 

amending Title 9, chapter 7, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 9-809.01; relating to codes.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 9, chapter 7, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 9-809.01, to read:

START_STATUTE9-809.01.  Inspections of rental properties; building code

Notwithstanding any other law, anytime a city or town inspects a residential rental dwelling unit as defined in section 9-1301 for compliance with a building code under any authority prescribed by law, the city or town shall inspect the residential rental dwelling unit for compliance with a building code as defined in section 9-1301.
