William J. "Bill" English passed away on June 22, 2017 at the age of eighty-six.

A native and lifelong resident of Arizona, Bill English distinguished himself as a successful businessman and dedicated public servant.  A Tucson High School alumnus and veteran of the Arizona National Guard, he went on to enjoy tremendous success as an electronic and oceanographic engineer for Bell Aerospace and NASA.  He was also founder and president of Allied General.  Bill became a realtor and a southern Arizona land developer before embarking on his legislative career from 1976 through 1990.

Bill English served his constituents and the State of Arizona as a member of the Arizona House of Representatives for Legislative District 9.  During his tenure, he served as chairman of both the Banking and Insurance and the Rules Committees.  In all he did, Representative English distinguished himself as a principled, thoughtful and generous public servant, and he earned the respect and admiration of all who had the privilege of working with him.

Preceded in death by his wife of forty-seven years, Theresa, Bill English is survived by his four children, Mark, Karen, Pamela and William, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

Therefore

Be it resolved by the Senate of the State of Arizona, the House of Representatives concurring:
