Abstract

Provisions

1.       Requires an insurance adjuster to keep usual and customary records pertaining to the transactions of the adjuster.

a.       Records must be maintained and made available for inspection for three years immediately after the date of completion of the transaction. (Sec. 1)

Current Law

An adjuster is an individual or business that is paid to adjust, investigate or negotiate insurance claim settlements on behalf of an insurance company or insured (A.R.S. § 20-321).

An individual must be at least 18 years of age, be a resident of Arizona or a resident of another state that allows residents of this state to act as adjusters in the other state, and pass an examination in order to obtain an adjuster license (A.R.S. § 20-321.01).
