Relating to chiropractic services and AHCCCS.
Provisions
1. Adds chiropractic services to the list of services covered by AHCCCS. (Sec. 1)
2. Prohibits Hospital Assessment Fund monies from being used to provide chiropractic services. (Sec. 1)
3. Permits AHCCCS to provide chiropractic services if approved by CMS. (Sec. 2)
4. Requires AHCCCS to:
a. Prescribe qualifying conditions under which chiropractic services may be used;
b. Prescribe provider qualifications for chiropractic services; and
c. Direct contractors to report on the uses of chiropractic services, including alternative treatments.
i. Reporting data must be used to determine whether cost savings were achieved. (Sec. 2)
5. Requires AHCCCS to submit a cost savings report to the Legislature and Executive by January 1, 2022. (Sec. 2)
6. Repeals session law provisions on July 1, 2022. (Sec. 2)
