Abstract

Relating to county land acquisition.

1.       Repeals the requirement that land located in a city or town be a part of a management agreement in order to be sold to a county. (Sec. 1)

Current Law

Land that is  located in a city or town is required to be part of a management agreement with a county in order to be sold. (A.R.S § 11-264.07).

A city or town may sell and convey any of its real or personal property. If a city or town wishes to sell a property valued at $1.5 million or more, they must hold a special election to receive voter approval of the sale. The ballots for the special election must contain a description of the property and the reason for sale (A.R.S §§ 9-402 & 9-403).
