appropriation; ASDB; education program

Purpose

Appropriates $1,600,000 from the state General Fund (GF) in FY 2019 to the Arizona State Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (ASDB) for an early childhood and family education program.

Background

ASDB provides schools and regional programs for the education of sensory impaired persons. They provide education institutions with resource services including curriculum, equipment, informational materials, and research and development to promote improved educational programs and services (A.R.S. § 15-1302).

H.B. 2022 appropriates $1,600,000 from the state GF in FY 2019 to ASDB.

Provisions

1. Appropriates $1,600,000 from the state GF in FY 2019 to ASDB for an early childhood and family education program.

2. Becomes effective on the general effective date.
