As passed the Senate, S.C.R. 1018 expresses the Legislature’s recognition of the benefits of nuclear energy and honors the Palo Verde Generating Station.
The House of Representatives adopted a strike everything amendment that does the following:
Purpose
Resolves that the Members of the Legislature encourage constituents who support animal rights causes to donate their time and money to local and independent humane societies.
Background
The mission of the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is to be "the leading animal advocacy organization, seeking a humane world for people and animals alike".
The HSUS is registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. HSUS's tax form for FY 2016 declares revenue totaling $126,573,499 and funds totaling $210,562,298. The HSUS declared their total expenses for FY 2016 as $131,778,319.
Provisions
1. Resolves that the Members of the Legislature encourage the citizens of Arizona who support animal rights causes to donate their time and money to local and independent humane societies.
