AN ACT

 

amending title 9, chapter 4, article 8, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 9-500.42; relating to municipal crime statistics.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 9, chapter 4, article 8, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 9-500.42, to read:

START_STATUTE9-500.42.  Crime and emergency services summary; website; definition

A.  Each city or town shall post monthly on its website a crime and emergency services summary within thirty days after the end of the preceding month.

B.  The crime and emergency services summary described in subsection A of this section shall include all of the following:

1.  All crime statistics pursuant to the federal uniform crime reporting standards or their equivalent.

2.  The following information relating to any fire department in the city or town:

(a)  The total number of calls for service per fire department in the current year to date.

(b)  The total number of calls for service per fire department in each of the five preceding years.

(c)  For each unit, the total number of responses in the previous month.

(d)  For each unit, the total number of responses in the previous year.

3.  The following information relating to any municipal emergency medical services division or department in the city or town:

(a)  The total number of responses per division or department in the current year to date.

(b)  The total number of responses per division or department in each of the five preceding years.

(c)  The average annual number of responses per each division or department unit if the division or department unit receives an average of two thousand five hundred or more calls for service per year.

4.  The following information relating to the response times of any fire department in the city or town that adheres to the NFPA 1710 and any municipal emergency medical services division or department in the city or town that adheres to the NFPA 1710:

(a)  For each unit, the average response times in each month of the previous year.

(b)  For each unit, the average response times in the previous year.

(c)  For each unit, the average response times in each month of the current year.

(d)  For each unit, the average response times in the current year to date.

5.  The following information relating to the travel times as defined in NFPA 1710 section 3.3.53.7 of any fire department in the city or town and any municipal emergency medical services division or department in the city or town:

(a)  For each unit, the average travel times in each month of the previous year.

(b)  For each unit, the average travel times in the previous year.

(c)  For each unit, the average travel times in each month of the current year.

(d)  For each unit, the average travel times in the current year to date.

6.  The following information relating to the total response times as defined in NFPA 1710 section 3.3.53.6 of any fire department in the city or town and any municipal emergency medical services division or department in the city or town:

(a)  For each unit, the average total response times in each month of the previous year.

(b)  For each unit, the average total response times in the previous year.

(c)  For each unit, the average total response times in each month of the current year.

(d)  For each unit, the average total response times in the current year to date.

7.  The following information relating to emergency personnel in the city or town:

(a)  The total number of sworn firefighters per department.

(b)  The total number of emergency medical services division members per department.

(c)  The total number of sworn firefighters per each one thousand citizens in the city or town.

C.  For the purposes of this section, "NFPA 1710" means the national fire protection association standard for the organization and deployment of fire suppression operations, emergency medical operations, and special operations to the public by career fire departments. END_STATUTE
