Page 1, after line 14, insert:
"Sec. 2. Title 48, chapter 22, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 48-3713.04, to read:
48-3713.04. District, department communication; interstate, federal issues; notice
A. If the district is a party to discussions on or negotiations of interstate agreements or agreements with the United States involving the use, storage or conservation of Colorado river water, the district shall promptly inform the director of water resources.
B. If the director of water resources is a party to discussions on or negotiations of interstate agreements or agreements with the United States involving the use, storage or conservation of Colorado river water, the director of water resources shall promptly inform the district."
