Page 1, line 9, after "officer" strike remainder of line

Strike lines 10 and 11, insert "is an employee of the court."

After line 15, insert:

"START_STATUTE12-299.11.  Court security officers; powers and duties

A certified court security officer has the authority of a peace officer in the performance of the officer's duties as follows:

1.  To make arrests and detain individuals, as reasonably necessary, to maintain the safety and well‑being of individuals in a court and judicial branch facility and grounds.

2.  To seize any unlawful weapons or materials that are brought into a court and judicial branch facility or onto a court and judicial branch grounds.

3.  To respond to threats and emergencies within a court and judicial branch facility and grounds or within another location when accompanying a judicial officer in an official capacity or within the immediate vicinity of the court and judicial branch facility and grounds or other location.

4.  To Exchange information with a law enforcement agency, including criminal history information, regarding threats to a court, a court's facilities and grounds or a court's employees.END_STATUTE"

Amend title to conform


And, as so amended, it do pass
