Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Section 44-7043, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended to read:
44-7043. Interoperability
Technology standards adopted by the governmental information technology agency department of administration, electronic signature use policies adopted by the secretary of state or any other similar standards adopted by any other governmental agency pursuant to section 44‑7042 shall encourage and promote consistency and interoperability with similar requirements adopted by other governmental agencies, other states, the federal government and nongovernmental persons that interact with governmental agencies. If deemed appropriate by the entity adopting the standards, the standards may allow for differing levels of standards from which governmental agencies may choose in implementing the most appropriate standard for a particular application.
