AN ACT

 

amending Title 41, chapter 1, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 41-111; appropriating monies; relating to the governor's office.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 41, chapter 1, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 41-111, to read:

START_STATUTE41-111.  Governor's office of equal opportunity; ADA coordinator; annual plan

A.  The governor's office of equal opportunity shall hire a full‑time statewide Americans with disabilities coordinator. 

B.  The Americans with disabilities coordinator shall implement an annual plan to carry out the requirements of the Americans with disabilities act in this state.  The plan shall:

1.  Be community-based.

2.  promote the coordination of disabilities activities throughout this state.

3.  Include a component that provides educational opportunities for small businesses.

4.  Encourage coordination between the small business community and the disability community to better enhance compliance with the Americans with disabilities act in public and private settings.

5.  Include specific enforcement of disability accessibility goals and a method for measuring the progress toward the attainment of the goals. END_STATUTE

Sec. 2.  Appropriation; office of governor

The sum of $100,000 and 1 FTE position are appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2019-2020 to the office of the governor for personal services and employee-related expenditures for an Americans with disabilities coordinator.
