AN ACT
appropriating monies to the Arizona board of regents.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Appropriation; Arizona board of regents; intercollegiate adaptive athletics program; matching monies; exemption
A. The sum of $160,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2019‑2020 to the Arizona board of regents for distribution to the universities under the jurisdiction of the board to maintain and operate an intercollegiate adaptive athletics program that provides opportunities for competitive wheelchair and adaptive sports to students and community members with disabilities.
B. The monies appropriated in subsection A of this section may be spent only:
1. When the university collects matching monies of gifts, grants and donations for the intercollegiate adaptive athletics program from sources other than this state.
2. On scholarships, equipment, uniforms, travel expenses and tournament fees for participants in the intercollegiate adaptive athletics program. The monies may not be used for administrative costs, personal services or employee related expenditures.
C. The appropriation made in subsection A of this section is exempt from the provisions of section 35‑190, Arizona Revised Statutes, relating to lapsing of appropriations.
