AN ACT
appropriating monies to the department of health services.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Appropriation; department of health services; amyotrophic lateral sclerosis; training; exemption
A. The sum of $350,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2019-2020 to the department of health services to award a grant pursuant to title 41, chapter 24, Arizona Revised Statutes, to procure an online training module that will do both of the following:
1. Assist primary care providers and community neurologists in the early diagnosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
2. Assist patients, caregivers and families in communities with limited medical care access to cope with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
B. The department may award the grant only to an entity that demonstrates national research and clinical experience relating to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
C. The appropriation made in subsection A of this section is exempt from the provisions of section 35-190, Arizona Revised Statutes, relating to lapsing of appropriations.
