History

Current law allows inactive or partially inactive agricultural land due to temporary reduction in or transfer of the available water supply or irrigation district water allotments for agriculture use in the farm unit to be eligible for classification as property used for agricultural purposes. Temporary reduction or transfer of water supply may be certified by the irrigation district to the county assessor that confirms the reduction or transfer. A certification for partial reduction is invalid for full inactivity of a farm for more than one year. (A.R.S. § 42-12152)

Provisions

1.       Allows inactive or partially inactive agricultural land due to partial reduction in water supply or irrigation district water allotments for agriculture use in the farm unit to be eligible for classification as property used for agricultural purposes. (Sec. 1)

2.       Allows the partial reduction of water supply to be certified by the irrigation district to the county assessor that confirms the reduction or transfer. (Sec. 1)

3.       Includes a certification for temporary reduction is invalid for full inactivity of the farm unit for more than one year. (Sec. 1)
