BILL STATUS: Commerce

Overview

☐ Prop 105 (45 votes) ☐ Prop 108 (40 votes) ☐ Emergency (40 votes)	☐ Fiscal NoteEstablishes regulation and licensure requirements for Video Service Providers (VSP).

History

Laws 2018, Chapter 331, established uniform regulations and licensing of VSPs to promote, in part, streamlined licensing and uniform terms and conditions for VSPs. The law created uniform video service license agreements between applicants for VSPs and municipalities or counties, which outlines certain requirements for VSPs.

The law placed the governance of VSPs by cities, towns, and counties within Title 9 (Cities and Towns).  Within the applicable sections of statute, local government applies to municipalities and counties.  With the inclusion of "county" in the definition, this places the regulation and licensing of county licensed VSPs under Title 9 (Cities and Towns).
