Repeals current law, which requires the State Board of Education (SBE) to adopt rules that school districts must award contracts for materials, services and goods based on the lowest qualified bidder.
History
State law requires the SBE to adopt rules for the procurement by school districts of any materials, services, goods, construction and construction services (A.R.S. §15-213). Laws 2018, Chapter 285, §§5 and 32 amended this statute by specifically requiring the SBE to adopt rules that school districts award contracts based on the lowest qualified bidder, on or after June 30, 2019.
Provisions
1. Eliminates the requirement for the SBE to adopt rules that school districts must award contracts for materials, services and goods based on the lowest qualified bidder effective on or after June 30, 2019. (Sec. 1)
2. Contains an emergency clause. (Sec. 2)
