Modifies the requirements for AOT to contract with a promotion and marketing vendor at a special sporting event.
History
Laws 2016, Chapter 366 requires the State Treasurer to pay the AOT $1.5 million annually to promote and market a special sporting event, sanctioned by a nationally recognized premier national auto racing series, at a host facility if the special event project cost incurred starting on January 1, 2017 is at least $100 million.
Arizona Procurement Code is used when buying, renting, leasing or otherwise acquiring any materials, services, construction or construction services for expenditure of public monies by state agencies. The procurement code outlines requirements, selection and solicitation of sources, preparation and award of contract and all phases of contract administration (A.R.S. § 41-2503).
Provisions
1. Requires AOT to contract with a promotion and marketing vendor that has requisite capabilities and expertise to promote and market a special sporting event. (Sec. 1)
2. Specifies that, if AOT develops a competitive solicitation for a promotion and marking vendor, they shall, in consultation with the host facility, develop the qualifications, specifications and evaluation factors for the competitive solicitation. (Sec. 1)
3. Establishes the Procurement Evaluation Committee (PEC) consisting of a representative of the State Procurement Office, the AOT, and the host facility. (Sec. 1)
4. Requires the PEC to recommend a vendor. (Sec. 1)
5. Makes technical and conforming changes. (Sec. 1)
