Appropriates $750,000 from the state General Fund (GF) to the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management (DFFM) in FY 2020.
History
DFFM provides fire prevention services, urban and community forestry and forest stewardship. DFFM also provides funding to communities for local firefighter training, to reduce hazardous fuels and acquire equipment and supplies (dffm.az.gov).
The Mount Lemmon Fire District provides fire protection, emergency medical services, rescue and public assistance to a 12.5 square mile area in the Coronado National Forest. The District's focus is rebuilding efforts on Mount Lemmon following the 2003 Aspen Fire that consumed over 80,000 acres of forest and destroyed over 330 structures (mtlemmonfire.org).
Provisions
1. Appropriates $750,000 from the state GF to DFFM in FY 2020 to distribute to the Mount Lemmon Fire District to construct a water line. (Sec. 1)
2. Reverts any monies that are uncommitted and unencumbered on December 31, 2021 to the state GF. (Sec. 1)
