Requires a public entity or private entity that constructs a new restroom or substantially renovates an existing restroom in a public building or place of public accommodation to include at least one baby diaper changing station.
History
A.R.S. § 41-1441 specifies places of public accommodation as all places of entertainment or recreation where food or beverage is sold for consumption on premises, all public places for lodging or benefit of those seeking health or recreation and all establishes which cater their services or goods to members of the general public. This does not include any private club or any place which is in its nature distinctly private.
Policies pertaining to discrimination and breast-feeding in any area of a public place or place of public accommodation are outlined in the statute. (A.R.S. §§ 41-1442, 41-1443)
Provisions
1. Requires a public or private entity that constructs a new restroom or substantially renovates an existing restroom in a public building or place of public accommodation to include at least one baby diaper changing station. (Sec. 1)
2. States that no private right of action is established. (Sec. 1)

Amendment
Committee on Health & Human Services
1. Deletes a private entity from the construction requirement.
2. Amends the requirement to include at least one adult changing station or one that can serve both.
