Overview
Allows applicants for the Rural E-connectivity Pilot Program to request that the Department of Agriculture (ADA) review their application for accuracy.
History
Section 779 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2018 granted $600 million to the Secretary of Agriculture to conduct a new broadband loan and grant pilot program. The purpose of the Rural E-connectivity Pilot Program is to expand rural broadband infrastructure in unserved rural areas and tribal lands.
Provisions
1. Allows persons eligible to apply for the Rural E-connectivity Pilot Program to request that the ADA review their application for accuracy. (Sec. 1)
2. Prohibits the ADA from denying an applicant's request to review. (Sec. 1)
Senate Amendments
1. Transfers the application review requirement from the ADA to the Arizona Commerce Authority.
