History

H.R. 6521 was introduced in Congress in July 2018 to establish the Great Bend of the Gila National Monument in Arizona. The proposed national monument would consist of approximately 84 thousand acres of public lands and would be administered by the Secretary of the Interior.

Provisions

1.       Urges the United States Congress to:

a)      not designate the Great Bend of the Gila River and surrounding areas as a national monument; and

b)     accept public input and expressed approval by the state before designating any national monument in Arizona.
